Austria or France for an après-ski?

To party on the slopes in an idyllic setting, to dance surrounded by mountains, during the day or at the bottom of the pistes, ski boots still on your feet, the experience is truly delightful. It’s a trend that just keeps on growing, so which resorts will offer you the most entertaining experiences?

The Austrian resorts are much sought after for their party atmosphere. They’re well known for their après-ski and their festive nights. We would certainly recommend Ischgl, Gerlos, Sölden or even St Anton. However, France does not fall short either and several resorts have made après-ski their strength and pulled out all the stops in developing events. Après-ski has become an essential element of the holiday in the snow, and you’ll not be disappointed by the resorts listed below. It’s not just the altitude bars, but also the programming of concerts, DJ sets and shows that are on offer.

For the New Year you won’t be disappointed, as every year Tignes organises a gigantic open air concert. Indeed, Tignes has built its reputation on developing a festival in association with the Francofolies. This year the resort will set-up two open air stages with more than 10 artists to offer you 3 days of concerts in the middle of the mountains.
In fact, throughout the season, the resort proposes great festive evenings thanks to the multitude of local bars and nightclubs.

The 2 Alps
This resort is also extremely popular with young partygoers! The presence of such a mix of nationalities makes the ambience even more festive, there’s a kind of Erasmus feeling to it. Numerous bars with different atmospheres line the streets where countless freestylers and snowboarders get together. We recommend that you start the party on the pistes, heading for the Pano Bar at an altitude of 2,600 m, to later continue around the station, at the Kré, the Rhumerie, the Brézilien, the Maya etc… a multitude of possibilities are available to you. An absolute must: the nightclub “l’Avalanche”, it’s where all the clubbers gather.

It’s up to you to test the different atmospheres on offer but to end your night, we would suggest one place in particular: Le Malaysia, the resort’s not-to-be-missed club.
