For a snow sure holiday, Christlum ski resort is the place to go. Situated in the Achenkirch municipality of Schwaz in the Austrian Tyrol, the winter sports area lies just one hour away from Munich and Innsbruck. The area is located next to Lake Achensee the largest lake in the Tyrol and encompasses spectacular alpine scenery including the Rofan and Karwenel mountains. A host of surrounding villages provide other skiing and winter sports opportunities and also a fascinating insight into Tyrolean life, culture and cuisine. The resort has elevations of between 950m to 1800m and the season runs from December until April with 27km of ski slopes and 11 lifts. There are 6km of blue runs, 16km of intermediate and 5km of black runs, and the most taxing run is the Gforllalmgraben at a length of 2km. Although snow cover is very reliable in this sunny spot the resort also has snowmaking equipment to ensure a perfect experience for visitors. There is a great deal more to offer the whole family in the Achensee region including trips on the lake, an aerial ride that enables you to fly like an eagle and lakeside nature trails with puzzle boards for children.
